The Louvre Museum is a national museum and art gallery in Paris, France. It has many valuable artifacts, or objects made by people. The Louvre Museum has lots of paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. Some of these are hundreds of years old. Others are thousands of years old!

Recently there was a theft at the Louvre! Some people got into the museum by cutting through a glass window and stole some valuable jewelry, such as crowns, necklaces, and earrings. They quickly broke the cases where the jewelry was being displayed and drove away on motorbikes.

Some coins that are very old can still show clear pictures and words.

Sometimes, treasure can be found when it was thought to be lost! Florida has an area known as the Treasure Coast. Over 300 years ago, strong winds from a hurricane sunk some Spanish ships there. The ships were carrying a lot of treasure, such as gold, silver, and jewels. As the ships sunk, the treasure was left at the bottom of the ocean.

A team of divers were exploring one of the shipwrecks. They found more than a thousand silver and gold coins. It is thought the coins were made in Bolivia, Peru, and Mexico. The coins are worth about $1 million! Even though they are very old and have been underwater for so long, some of the details on the coins can still be seen. Discoveries like this can help us learn a lot about the past.
