This November, people will go to the polls to vote. They will vote on many issues. They will vote for representatives in government. They will also vote for the leader of the executive branch of government, or the president of the United States. They will choose between the Republican Party nominee for president or the Democratic Party nominee for president.
The Republican Party nominee is Donald J. Trump. He was the 45th president of the United States. He lost the reelection in 2020 to Joe Biden. Now, he is seeking to become the second person to lose the presidency as an incumbent (person currently holding an office) and then be reelected to another term as president. The first was Grover Cleveland in 1888.
The Democratic Party nominee is Kamala Harris. She is currently the vice president of the United States. She is seeking to become the first female and South Asian president of the United States. She would also be only the second Black president of the United States.
Voters will decide on November 5, 2024. It may take days or weeks to count the votes and determine the winner. Check back to Impact News to see who will be the next President of the United States.
What Do You Think? If you were president, what decisions would you make for our country?
